Why Professional Stony Brook University, NY Mold Removal Services are Important

Mold growth is a serious problem that can occur as a result of water damage, flooding, and high moisture content. No matter the cause, whether you suspect or you’re positive you have a mold problem in your Suffolk County home or business, you need to act fast and contact a Stony Brook University, NY mold removal company.

The following are just some of the reasons why professional mold removal services are important.

Mold Spreads Quickly

Mold needs just three ingredients to grow: moisture, warmth, and darkness. As long as those ingredients are met, mold can start growing, and once it takes hold, it can spread very quickly.

Molds release spores, and those spores travel through the air and spread throughout your Suffolk County home or business. When they land on surfaces in other areas that offer the three necessary ingredients for mold growth, it will sprout, and the process will continue over and over again. Before you know it, a small patch can turn into a massive mold infestation.

To stop dead in its tracks and prevent a more widespread problem, mold removal services are essential. An experienced Stony Brook University, NY mold removal professional will promptly address the problem and prevent it from worsening.

Mold Causes Serious Damage

Mold feeds on the surfaces it grows on, and as it does, it can leave serious damage in its path. Mold grows on organic, porous materials, such as wood, sheetrock, drywall, plaster, ceiling tiles, carpeting, insulation, fabric, and much, much more.

If mold growth is left unchecked, it can weaken the materials, and if the situation is severe enough, the structural integrity of your Suffolk County property could be compromised, and your belongings could be ruined. With mold removal services from a reliable Stony Brook University, NY mold removal professional, you’ll be able to minimize the impact.

Mold Can be Dangerous

The spores that mold releases can reduce the indoor air quality of your Suffolk County home or business. Breathing in those spores can cause adverse health effects; particularly in those who suffer from allergies, preexisting respiratory conditions, such as asthma or COPD, and in those who have weakened immune systems. Black mold, on the other hand, can be dangerous to anyone. The physical symptoms that exposure to mold growth can cause include:

· Nasal congestion

· Sore throat

· Wheezing

· Coughing

· Irritated eyes

Some information about Stony Brook University, NY

The State University of New York at Stony Brook, more commonly known as Stony Brook University (SBU), is a public research university in Stony Brook, New York in the town of Brookhaven. It is one of four university centers of the State University of New York system. Consisting of 213 buildings over 1,454 acres of land in Suffolk County, it is the largest public university in the state of New York by area.

The State University of New York at Stony Brook was established in Oyster Bay in 1957, as the State University College on Long Island (SUCOLI), by the governor and state of New York. Established almost a decade after the creation of New York’s public higher education system, the institution was envisioned as a college for the preparation of secondary school teachers.

Leonard K. Olson was appointed as the first dean of the institution and was instrumental in the recruitment of faculty staff and planning of the later Stony Brook campus. SUCOLI opened with an inaugural class of 148 students, on the grounds of the William Robertson Coe Planting Fields estate. These first students were admitted on a tuition-free basis.

1961 was a year of firsts as thirty students were conferred degrees in the first commencement and the university was appointed its first president, John Francis Lee. Lee left later that year due to political and bureaucratic matters regarding the future of the university and the central administration at Albany. Nevertheless, Lee fulfilled his primary task of reshaping the university from a technical science and engineering college of limited degree options to a full-scale university featuring liberal arts programs.
